This is a wonderful recipe for crab soup. I am from Medico and tin can become this in restaurants just take been looking for a recipe like this for a long time. I do add together some extra things, like chopped cabbage, potatoes, and birds center frozen mixed vegs. I don't like lima beans and then I exit them out. The extra veggies make the soup take longer to cook but it is really DELICIOUS! **Try not to utilise pasteurized or canned crab meat or it will give the soup a "fishy" taste. Fresh crab meat works the best (if you can discover it in your area).

I am also from Maryland and although I made a number of adjustments, this is a very skilful basic recipe. Hither is what changed: I used crushed tomatoes instead of stewed (28 oz tin can), used Birdseye frozen veggies, which has light-green beans, corn and peas (two pocket-sized bags), 1 1/2 cups cubed potatoes, one/2 cup chopped savoy cabbage, 2 cans (non cups) of beef broth (low sodium), 1/iv cup brown saccharide and 1 T. Worcheshire sauce. 3 Tablespoons of Old Bay was perfect for me, merely for someone who isn't from the surface area, it might be a niggling too spicy. I cooked it much longer on low (near ii hours), but I don't serve information technology until the next day then all of the flavors tin can develop.

I have been cooking Maryland Crab Soup for years. It is my all time favorite. This recipe is fabulous. I added more onion, potatoes and substituted in some crushed tomatoes. The crushed tomatoes give the soup a heartier, more than robust texture.
04/fifteen/2007
Very good! My hubby grew upward in Baltimore and thought that the idea of lima beans was a bit strange so I omitted those. I did add together celery, low sodium beefiness broth, a cubed potato and actress One-time Bay seasoning. Fantastic!
08/29/2008
This is almost identical to the recipe my family unit has used for years. One of the main differences is that I add i/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 Tbsp. of Worchestire sauce. It may audio strange merely it actually gives information technology a "richer" flavor!
02/15/2002
This was absolutely the best Maryland Crab Soup recipe I have always fabricated. The taste was truly authentic. I did, however, follow the propose of one other reviewer and added potatoes to the recipe. Awesome!
ten/03/2011
I grew up near the Chesapeake Bay and I recollect this soup didn't taste anything like Maryland crab soup. The broth was bland and had no depth whatsoever. Really good crab soup includes some shredded cabbage too.
11/26/2001
I have been looking for a Maryland crab soup recipe for and then long. This is IT!!!! It tasted about exactly like the soup from Philips Crab House in Maryland and also bachelor in the frozen dept. of the market. I used lump crab instead of blue and left out the claws. The only thing I would change is to add the cubed potatoes it seems to be missing. It was wonderful!!!!!
03/xvi/2006
This is the all-time and easiest tomato plant-based crab soup I've ever fabricated or eaten. I've made information technology several times already equally we do a lot of crabbing in the summertime. I discover information technology much easier to simply use a pocketbook of frozen mixed veggies.
02/06/2007
Good stuff. I added more One-time Bay & used frozen soup veggies, a little black pepper & a clove of garlic. Information technology was awesome & volition no doubt exist even better tomorrow.
05/31/2002
This is my recipe, somehow the cubed potatoes went missing from the ingredients. Sorry. If you are from Maryland you should increment the Quondam Bay, Others may not take the palate for that much spice/seasoning. When time permits, I beginning with homemade beef stock. Information technology is all the better. Don't forget, information technology is even better the next twenty-four hours!
08/11/2005
This is a great basic crab soup recipe. I use a diverseness of veggies (onions, celery, corn, green beans, zucchini)to pack the soup full of expert-for-you stuff. I also utilise leftover steamed crabs and place the claws in the soup with the meat. It gives it a little extra flavor (from the Quondam Bay seasoning). A true Maryland Crab Soup recipe. Thanks Cindy!
11/06/2005
This soup is an Astonishing care for for anyone who loves seafood soups. I used crushed tomatoes instead of stewed, and a bag of classic mixed frozen veggies (corn, greenish beans, lima beans, carrots, and peas) instead of the other vegetables (adds upwardly to about 3 cups). Though the crab is expensive, this soup is an impressive treat!
07/03/2001
Awesome!!! I travel to Maryland several times a twelvemonth and wait forwards to at least one bowl of soup. NOW I Tin can Go far AT HOME!! I guild the crab with my butcher and OH HOW GOOD AND EASY! Tasted like I was sitting in my favortie restaurant in Maryland - only amend considering I had more crab!!!!!!!!!
10/25/2009
Love this dish!! I did a few modifications though, I substituted the 3 cups of water down to one and instead added a bottle of bloody mary mix. Went with diced potatos instead of the beans and added 3 teaspoons of Old Bay. The dish came out fantastic, the bloody mary mix gave it a very overnice subtle kicking to it. I'm thinking of renaming this to "Mary's Bloody Crab Soup"..Whaddya recollect?..:-)
07/12/2011
This is a existent deal for good crab soup and that is coming from someone in Baltimore who has fabricated crab soup from scratch! I did vanquish and cook the tomatoes, Quondam Bay and onions separately for xv mins before adding the vegetables and and so the crab meat. Cooking for another 15. Next time, think I'll add a bay leaf and 1-2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce to add some more depth to the goop. If you want to "bump up" the crab taste you tin can throw the uncooked crab claws into the soup to cook as opposed to cooking them separately. That's how cooks do information technology in Maryland when cooking crab soup from scratch.
03/21/2010
All I can say is Amazing!! We go to Ocean City, MD every year, and I get the crab soup every time I go. I wait an entire year to consume this soup, and now I can make it at domicile!! THANKS sooo much for sharing this recipe!! I added ii potatoes and cubed them, and I likewise added ii stalks of celery! It is THAT good!!!
09/27/2009
I requite it the max stars because it is unusual to become a crab soup recipe that is true to the Baltimore tradition. I agree with others, add cubed potatoes, some crushed tomatoes and even some chopped cabbage to thicken it upwards. Use depression sodium goop if y'all put the full amount or more than of Quondam Bay. Great thanks!
07/16/2006
I did the photograph for this soup. I used light-green beans and petite and regular diced tomatoes instead of the lima beans and stewed tomatoes. Watch the common salt level with beef broth (I used cubes and it was a bit salty) and season to taste with One-time Bay. Simmer longer for ameliorate flavour. This is very similar to the Erstwhile Bay recipe listed too. Being from Maryland and now living elsewhere, this brought me back to home!
02/09/2011
I made this for Super Bowl and information technology was a big success. I added 1 cup cubed potato, 2 stalks diced celery, 1 clove chopped garlic and subsituted the vegetables with a bag of frozen corn, carrots, lima bean and greenish bean mix. Since I could not discover fresh blue crabmeat this time of the year, I used canned lump crabmeat. Delicious; will make this once again and over again
x/28/2011
Delish! Tastes but similar a Chesapeake Bay restaurant crab soup. Other recipes I tried have tomato soup equally a base of operations and information technology just didn't cut information technology. I added a large potato in modest diced pieces, a bay leaf, bagged frozed mixed veggies and actress Old Bay seasoning. Love It! THANKS!
08/21/2010
This recipe is spot on. Make sure you use existent (not canned) crab meat. I detest lima beans then I left them out and it is perfect (for me) without them. Don't be tempted to utilise any salt, the Old Bay has plenty of salt in it already. My supermarket has claw meat for sale so I didn't have to cook the claws beforehand. If I ate this at a restaurant, I would rave well-nigh it. It is ane of the easiest to brand recipes I've ever come across. It took about 10 minutes to set up. If yous were planning a political party, you could brand this a half hour before the guests arrived if y'all cooked the claws ahead of time.
12/26/2009
this was fantabulous and VERY EASY!!! we doubled the old bay since we like a fiddling more spice. we also let the veggies simmer and soften up a fleck before calculation the crab. crawly recipe for a common cold day!
04/28/2010
Splendid Recipe! This was a very easy to follow recipe and the end outcome was very skilful! I did nonetheless use a lil more old bay and I sauteed my onion with a garlic clove in some sherry and worchester sauce then added everthing. Once again great recipe Cindy!!
07/xx/2008
We live in Medico and I have been searching for a good crab soup recipe. This is fantastic and best of all, easy to prepare. I omitted the lima beans and added celery instead. I also added more Former Bay and a dash of crushed ruddy pepper to give it some extra zing. I'll definitely be making this one for friends and family unit!
01/16/2009
This was my first endeavour at Dr. crab soup, and I was very pleased! Froze it in bowls and it heats up marvelously for lunch!
01/18/2008
This is over the edge. GRrrrrreat. I used to own property in Body of water Urban center,Md and on every trip at that place I would become a bowl of this soup and savor information technology. Now that I live in Myrtle Embankment,SC (where one would think y'all could get this soup) I have been craving it. Now with this recipe I can get my "fix" whenever I need to. The only changes I made was to up the One-time Bay and utilize more than vegetables. 5 stars indeed!!!! Cheers Jen.
11/21/2008
This is a peachy recipe and everyone loves it. I practise modify it a bit by adding tomato juice instead of h2o.
01/20/2013
I just made this yesterday, my first time making crab soup. Also from Maryland so I wanted it to be good! Boy was it ever!! I followed the recipe mostly, using suggestions from other reviewers to tweak it a scrap. I omitted the crab claws, added two tablespoons of Worcestershire and 2 tablespoons of brownish sugar. I also used crushed tomatoes instead of stewed. Upped the Sometime Bay to 3 tablespoons and just used two bags of Birds Eye mixed veggies. It was even meliorate today. Next time I'm doubling the recipe.
03/29/2012
Other than using a pocketbook of mixed frozen veggies instead of a cup each of the lima beans, corn and carrots, and leaving out the claws, I followed this pretty closely. I alive in MD and every restaurant effectually here has this soup on the menu. This version is as expert every bit or better than any I've tasted. The central is in using a skilful quality, fresh crabmeat. I used a lb. of backfin. Delish!
09/16/2011
I'm more than of a cream of crab kind of daughter so I wasn't jumping up and downwardly over this ane. My husband liked it. I would probably add together potatoes next time.
12/20/2011
Awesome awesome recipe. I was looking for a recipe to apply because I lost track of measurements for my old recipe and this one is a keeper! I alive on the Chesapeake Bay and trust me when I say people volition let you lot know if this soup is not right! Only remember to employ lump crab meat, okra and LOTS of old bay!!!! :-) The old bay is the central to happiness with this recipe!
ten/18/2009
Love this dish! Fast, easy, and healthy. To brand it actually dandy, changes the two TBs onion to i half small onion, diced. Add 1 half cup of celery, diced thin. Sautée onion and celery with a Tablespoon of butter until soft. Practice this as the start stride in the recipe, using the aforementioned pot you volition be making the soup in. Frozen veggies are fine. I prefer diced tomatoes. The recipe is low-cal on the Old Bay, I apply 4 TBs. Add a ii shots of of Franks Ruby-red Hot Sauce (flavor but not bitter like Tobasco). Enjoy.
xi/28/2006
Scrum diddly umptious. I added about twice the Old Bay and kicked it up a notch with some cayenne powder.
05/27/2003
I made this recipe for my father's 60th birthday party and everyone went nuts over it!! They said it was similar an "sometime earth recipe." If only they knew how easy information technology was! Thanks!!
12/19/2002
Fantabulous soup. Volition be making this over again and once again.
01/19/2003
This recipe is Corking! So easy and fast. We're originally from Baltimore and it tastes like the soup back abode.
02/22/2009
Wow!! This soup is fabulous. I made a few changes based on what other reviewers suggested: added celery, sauteed onion, celery and carrots in some olive oil prior to adding other ingredients, also added potatos. My married man went to school in Annapolis, Md so he has had his share of Md Crab Soup - this rivals the best of them and he can't stop raving. Cheers for a bully recipe!
12/29/2009
This is great! I used jumbo lump crabmeat and some extra Old Bay considering we love information technology. Thanks!
04/27/2009
Delicious! I followed the advice of another poster and added one/3 a cup of brown sugar and about tripled the amount of Onetime Bay and it made a HUGE difference in the taste..gives information technology a richer flavour. Also, calculation bodily pieces of steamed crab is a great addition, and actually adds to the soups flavour. The soup will taste better the day after you lot brand information technology, then you may want to refrigerate it immediatly and then have it for a meal the next solar day.
10/20/2003
Great recipe. I added a few more veggies. I thought it looked a piddling slim. I'm glad I did, information technology definately would have been to much crab meat per bite if I hadn't. What a great soup. We are from the Eastern Shore and everyone agreed this was the all-time crab soup they ever had. Thank you.
03/02/2008
I have been searching for a crab soup to brand for my PICKY family!!! This was EASY to make and Delicious!!! I omitted the corn and limas and added peas and green beans...one reviewer said to add potatoes simply I added egg noodles(cooked showtime and added the last few minutes of simmer) It turned out cracking!!!
09/03/2004
This was fine. My husband and I are from Southern Maryland where this soup comes from. We both agree that this isn't the all-time we've had. I recall it needs something else to exist to our liking. Maybe crushed tomatoes and definitley more Erstwhile Bay. I probably used 3 tbsp - merely we love the seasoning. It also tasted much better the next day. The beginning day it just tasted similar veggie soup. I'll attempt this once more old after tasting some crab soups in our expanse to see what I might change.
02/05/2010
I enjoyed this soup. Taste fifty-fifty better the next day. I feel information technology is because the seasonings were able to settle into the soup.
02/21/2007
Pretty adept. We subbed diced tomatoes for the stewed and zucchini for the limas (no one likes them, I cringe even thinking most them...) anyway, we also liked it better after it simmered a picayune longer (xxx+ mins) before adding the crabmeat. It was kinda salty for me, maybe the make a low sodium Old Bay? My boyfriend's grampa had two bowls and everyone complimented while they ate it. Thanks for the recipe!
09/30/2009
This was my first time making any kind of soup. I made some adjustments, but it tasted JUST like what you would become at a seafood restaurant in Maryland! Gave some to my sis and she and her hubby loved it every bit did my 5 yr old nephew! I added 3 medium red potatoes, half of a small-scale head of cabbage, frozen mixed veggies (corn, peas, greenish beans), half a bag of lima beans, and a ii tablespoons of worcestershire sauce. I also used a big tin of stewed tomatoes and a large tin can of crushed tomatoes and the entire box of broth. I needed more broth since I was adding more vegetables. Thanks!!!!
07/31/2008
Splendid recipe...I alive in Maryland and crab soup is our specialty. This was fantastic and I added some leftover crab claws that were already covered in quondam bay.
08/09/2011
Not bad Md crab soup. I use basically the same ingredients. Instead of so much water try using half V8 or tomato plant juice. Makes for a heartier broth. We employ the aforementioned basic recipe to make a seafood chowder likewise. Just add some cut up steamed shrimp, clams, muscles etc.
11/05/2010
I did non accept corn, so I added green beans instead. Delicious soup! My granddaughter had 3 helpings.
01/18/2012
I simply LOVE this soup!!!!
ten/05/2011
I saulted the onions and substituted lima beans for light-green beans. I used all the beefiness broth and simply added a few more vegtables and then specified to thicken the soup a little. I used fresh carrots and onion and frozen green beans and corn. I didn't measure out anything. My married man said information technology was the best thing I've made Always! I was shocked how well it turned out myself! It only took thirty minutes to cook and tasted as adept as a restraunt!!! This recipe is a keeper:0)
11/25/2007
Easy and succulent. This recipe makes eating place quality Maryland Crab Soup. I added greenish beans, potatoes, celery, and extra Quondam Bay considering we similar it chunky and spicy.
ten/31/2010
Very adept recipe. We all enjoyed it!
01/21/2010
Corking recipe. I took the advice of some other reviewer and saute celery and onions in the bottom of the soup pot prior to adding the other ingredients. I used frozen veggie mix that did non include lima beans. I'chiliad from Dr. and loved this recipe.
01/04/2003
A quick and easy recipe to make. It only took 30 minutes to fix and yummy, yummy! Taste like the best I've had in restaurants. I did change some of the ingredients though. I eliminated the lima beans (don't care for them) and used the carrots and corn to make up the difference. I also used 24 ounces of crab meat instead and WOW!, was it good. This recipe volition be added to my favorite soups list!!
03/27/2011
This recipe is so like shooting fish in a barrel and fast. I likewise do not like lima beans and substitute fresh green beans, dissimilar just good!
01/16/2010
PERFECT!! Very accurate! Similar other reviewers, I swapped the lima beans for cubed potatoes. Other than that, it'south wonderful as-is. I look frontwards to making the soup again VERY before long!
12/28/2004
Very adept recipe. Equally existence raised on the Patuxent River, I idea it could of used a little more than crab meat. The gustation was very skilful.
06/13/2013
Great recipe, everybody liked information technology. I fabricated it a few times. The second time I changed a few things and it came out the best. I omitted the Lima beans (both me and the married woman didn't think they went with this soup. I added cube potatoes, 2 tbs of brownish sugar, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, 2 stalks of celery diced up and i bay leaf and 3 tablespoons of onetime bay (we like everything spicy). I also just used beef stock and no water, vanquish tomatoes instead of stewed tomatoes and 1 tea spoon of tomato paste (if you don't take no biggie). At the end of cooking I added two tablespoons of sherry, again if y'all don't take no biggie but information technology does become really well with this soup. Just a hint, if you use celery in annihilation use you peeler on it offset, it helps to keep it from not to getting stringy.
08/xi/2010
I have lived in Baltimore and the surrounding area for nigh 40 years and this is a great, traditional, delicious crab soup recipe!
01/23/2008
Wow, eating this soup made me feel similar I was dwelling house again! It was and then expert. Merely needed abit more than old bay to spice it up, and I allow it melt longer. ok, so information technology's not quite what mom used to make only information technology was pretty close. I'll be making information technology again.
01/07/2014
This is an excellent recipe. I sauteed onion and green pepper in a little butter/magarine first then added the other ingredients. I besides used more seasonings for the season (garlic, oregano, bay leaves, creole seasoning, salt, pepper, and old bay). About a tablespoon of worchester sauce and ii teaspoons of brown saccharide. Yum Yum!
12/14/2013
Absolutely loved information technology! I barbarous in dear with Maryland Crab Soup when I moved to Baltimore 7 years ago. I had some frozen crab meat and claws from this summer, so thought I'd try making it myself. I followed the advice of some of the other reviews and added a potato, some A1 sauce, and 1/4 cup brown saccharide. Adjacent fourth dimension I would reduce the sugar only a fleck. Thank you and so much for sharing this recipe, Cindy! I will definitely be making it over again! : )
10/18/2009
Very delicious! I used a carton of beef broth and decreased water to 2 1/two C. I added a murphy and celery and used frozen vegetables for soup. I put it in the crock pot for a few hours. I decided to use the 2 Tbs of Old Bay so that style everyone could decide if they wanted more.
05/22/2011
Splendid and quick..the whole family loved it.
03/20/2007
This soup is authentic. I take had Maryland Crab Soup in mant restaurants in Maryland when I lived in that location. This version ranks with the all-time of them. OUTSTANDING!
12/22/2004
What is the excitement? It taste just like CAMPBELL's Vegetable soup with Crab. Got to exist a better MD.Crab Soup recipe out there!
04/22/2009
Pretty proficient. I let it cook in the crockpot for a long fourth dimension (36 hours) to give it a less watery taste.
08/08/2008
i ahve made this recipe before . and i am originally from maryland. the best soup e'er!! spicy yet tasteful due north delicous!!!! thanks for the help on remembering what all goes in it!!! dear the recipe!!!!!!!!!!!!
02/09/2009
I really did non like this recipe at all. It had very fiddling flavor and I had to add so much more seasonings. I will non brand this again.
01/eleven/2008
One word...YUMMY! This is but similar the crab soup they sell at the seafood place downwardly the street. I tin can't wait to brand this again. Oh, I added a can of green beans.
01/18/2008
This was so expert. I didn't make whatsoever changes and will be making this again.
05/07/2012
Gives a good base so you can make it your own. So equally a native of Southern Maryland I had to modify it upwards a bit. I cutting the h2o in one-half (or you wouldn't be able to notice the crab meat). Added 2 cans of tomato soup, 3 diced white potatoes, 1/2 tsp sugar, salt and pepper, ground cayenne pepper, about a tbsp of Franks's hot sauce and more quondam bay (we like spicy). BTW next time I will go with the diced tomatoes since I cut the stewed in cubes.
08/02/2004
Wow! Super expert. I've made versions of this in the past, simply this was the all-time. I added some haddock and potatos in addition to the regular recipe, becuase nosotros similar a repast-like soup. We ate the whole pot in one day! mmmm.
ten/eighteen/2010
This recipe is succulent! I am a caterer and scaled the recipe for 200 servings. Also added potatoes and celery. Everyone absolutely enjoyed!!
02/ten/2012
Proficient, quick low calorie supper. Would attempt calculation a potato side by side fourth dimension as suggested by others to make it a bit more filling.
03/30/2013
I am too from Baltimore and this didn't cutting information technology for me. It was a good offset. After I added two bay leaves, one more T of Onetime Bay, a little garlic, some cherry and black pepper, one T worchestershire, ane-2 T brownish sugar, and a ton more veggies (potatoes, green beans, and peas), did it sense of taste authentic to me.
08/04/2017
Instead of the beef goop, I was fortunate to have a dozen or then left over crabs whom I lazily cleaned, and threw the rest in pots and simmered it for many hours. Then I followed your recipe, included potatoes, frozen limas, 2 ears of fresh corn (it is summer), and crushed tomatoes (hubby doesn't similar tomato chunks.) I live in Sea City, Medico and served it at a pool party, everyone said it is the best crab soup they have ever had. Give thanks yous.
03/23/2011
This is better than what many restaurants serve, and no worse than what a expert restaurant serves. I ended up using a bag of frozen soup vegetables and that was fine. Left in the fresh onion, though, and put half the tomato in the blender before adding. What sealed the deal for me: my swain loved it so much that he launched into a stream of expletives. Every bit a note, I am indeed in the Baltimore area; this is my showtime year here.
01/xix/2007
I'm office of a Notre Dame guild and our trip this by year was to see them play Navy at Baltimore, Physician. I made this recipe for our tailgate party and it was the hit of the day. I changed the amount cooking for to thirty servings and instead of 3 lbs of crab I used four lbs. Almost everyobdy that tried it said that it was the all-time Dr. crab soup they've have. We're from virtually the Philly area then well-nigh people have tried this type of recipe. I think it will be made for our superbowl party...
04/12/2007
Absolutly delicious. Used lots of crab and old bay seasoning for an extra kick. Frozen veggies besides worked great. Like shooting fish in a barrel to make and tastes bully!!
03/11/2011
I just made this tonight and it was FANTASTIC! I have been pining away for this soup for years, ever since I moved abroad from Delaware. Information technology'southward rarely featured on inland menus. This was and then like shooting fish in a barrel and delicious, I can't believe I have never tried to make it before. I made some variations and will post my version.
07/28/2007
Lots of flavor in this ane. I was non sure most this recipe one time I read the ingredients, then as I was putting information technology in the pot I thought "this is gonna gustation nasty" simply being a cajun we'll eat just virtually anything. Surprise! It was very very skilful. Loaded with flavour.
01/09/2012
My married man prefers this with a bit more liquid in it, so instead of iii cups of h2o, we toss in the full gallon of water. Sub in peas for lima beans and use one.5 to ii cups of each vegetable to majority things upward a little. Other ingredients are multiplied by roughly a cistron of two, and we utilize the cheapest crab we can find (honestly, it doesn't make much divergence in the soup, and so why not go cheap?). Wonderful soup, and easy enough that my married man tin can make it all by himself!
05/30/2008
This soup turned out very good. The family unit enjoyed it. Will make over again.
xi/xiii/2013
An outstanding recipe. I added most a loving cup frozen, sliced okra in place of one of the small bags of frozen, mixed vegetables and used a container of fresh, pasturized lump crab meat from the fish counter. My husband is from Baltimore and very particular about his Maryland Crab Soup -- he proclaimed information technology "admittedly delicious!" Thank you for sharing the recipe!
xi/03/2012
I detest people who change recipes and then review, merely I did make many changes based on other reviews. I used 2 cans of low-sodium beefiness broth as the base (and no water at all), added some shredded cabbage, 2 medium red potatoes (diced), celery, used only one can of stewed tomatoes and mashed them slightly, and one (14.5oz) can of crushed tomatoes. I added Worcestershire and dark-brown sugar to taste. I used a minor can of corn, small can of peas, and regular sized can of green beans (all drained - and low-sodium where I could discover them). I Really wanted to endeavour the soup, even though venereal are out of season. I used 8oz of Phillips claw meat and 8oz of Phillips 'special.' The soup was SUPERB and we'll be eating leftovers tonight. *****And aye, I live in Maryland.*****
11/29/2010
My family unit loves this I made a few variations because of the children
02/16/2015
This recipe tastes like to Doc crab soup but was defective a tad. As other reviewers I added diced potatoes, zucchini, cutting dark-green beans and frozen peas to the existing veggies. I also added more onion and old bay to help.
06/04/2010
This is a very good recipe. I live in Doc and was looking for a proficient recipe. I did add together cubed potatoes and barley. I was very delicious.
10/28/2007
this soup reminds me of a Crab GUMBO! its the best!I think I made it better than I had information technology in Maryland!!!!
03/21/2010
Why is in that location green beans in the motion picture, but not in the recipie. What other ingredients are missing. Looks good though....
03/23/2007
This just didn't have enough flavour. I should take tasted it earlier serving so I could have added more spices.
01/07/2005
Incredible! My husband was So HAPPY he had tears in his optics. He'due south in love. With me. With you...with this soup. I owe ya 1!
07/nineteen/2009
I'thousand from Maryland, and I like to call up I have a pretty loftier standard for crab soup. This was the first time I've e'er fabricated crab soup on my own, and this recipe gave me the nuts, and I made my ain adjustments. The result was an amazing soup. My adjustments were: i. In addition to the one lb crab meat I also used a container of claw meat 2. I used frozen soup veggies to cut downwards on time iii. I used 3 plus tablespoons of old bay PLUS crushed red peppers for extra spicy soup I'll definitely utilize this recipe over again, but with my adjustments.
06/17/2013
As a Maryland native, I have to say this is the genuine article. Simple and easy to make, always a oversupply favorite. I add just a few drops of hot sauce to kick it up a bit. Slap-up RECIPE THANKS FOR SHARING.
03/16/2010
I've never had Maryland Crab Soup before, cripe i've oasis't fifty-fifty been to Maryland. I did really like this soup and will go far again in the summer when I sub in some fresh sweet corn and some fresh pacific dungeness crab. I will probable cut a little Sometime Bay, and add additional beefiness broth as the broth was delish and a little heat for personal taste. I used canned crab (one.5 lbs and adjusted the other ingredients accordingly) equally it was given to me. The whole pot consisting of 14 servings price me only $ two.66 to make, frugal indeed, as were the calories. Thanks for the mail service.
